Smile no more.....!

It has been known to bring a smile to the faces of some when I name my birthplace. However after today, they should smile no more! William Morris was also born in WALTHAMSTOW! AND back in 1834 when he was born (long before my time..), it was 'one of the largest and handsomest suburban villages near the metropolis....(containing) many large villas, with tasteful pleasure grounds.'

This magnificent property, Water House, is the only property that remains of the several the Morris family leased in the area, and is now the home to the William Morris Gallery. And what a wonderful time I spent with friends here today and I have learnt so much more too...surely good! Fantastic fabrics, furnishings, poetry, writings and social revolution; all the achievements of a remarkable individual and craftsman.

Then from Walthamstow Central on the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus, Liberty's, Regent Street and the Christmas lights, Charing Cross and home!
