Muttley's Musings

I'm just a crazy man with a box

50 years ago today Doctor Who first appeared on our television screens. Tonight I've just been to the cinema to see a special screening of the 50th Anniversary story The Day of the Doctor. It was an amazing story full of really cool suprises, but as Professor River Song would say 'Spoilers'

I can just about remember Tom Baker as the Doctor but my real memories are of Peter Davison playing the Doctor. It's just like with James Bond, every generation has it's own first character. Out of the most recent Doctors I really like David Tennant.

I had hoped that there may be some people dressed up as characters from the Tardis at the cinema which I could blip, but there weren't, although I saw a teenager trying to use a sonic screwdriver on a pedestrian crossing while I was driving through town, and in the multi-story car park I saw a 10th Doctor presumably paying for his Tardis parking.

So here we have a Tardis, with the door slightly a jar hinting a new adventures, my key to the Tardis, and my Sonic screwdriver, which is very handy for painting with light!

So here's to the next 50 years of adventures in space and time. As the 10th Doctor would say...

Alonzee!
