Sociable Saturday
When I was growing up my week-end was a tale of two very different days. We worked, shopped, visited and partied on a Saturday but a Sunday was a time of peace and quiet, time for reading, playing games and preparing for the week to come.
Nowadays it's hard to distinguish between the two days, I work, shop, visit and party on both days and try and squeeze in some solitude along the way. Mostly it works quite well, but sometimes I don't quite manage the peaceful time I need to prepare me for the week to come.
Today's my party day this week-end I woke this morning to a beautiful sunny day and started to get things ready for my shopping trip. Looking across the field, I saw the sheep socialising in the distance and they reminded me that we all need some company in the cold.
So tonight I'm off out for some food and socialising with some very good friends, we've known each other for longer than I want to tell everyone, and the chat's quite easy now. We know each others good sides, bad sides and secrets, so it's always a great boost to the morale meeting and catching up.
So I've decided that I should try and create many more sociable Saturday's-they provide light and warmth on a cold winter's night.
