Infra red

A bright and crisp morning with a severe frost - I was out blipping in my jimjams, even before taking a cuppa up to Himself. This caught my eye - a thick wodge of ice was lying in my funky red handy plastic garden basket and little leaves were stuck inside. It reminded me of a negative being developed in infra red.

The day continued to be gorgeous. TJ popped in for a coffee bearing cakes then we worked in the garden - me cutting back old herbs and clearing beds, Himself preparing a tree to be felled - yet another! This will be the fourth that has either toppled or had to be cut down this year. This one, a rather beautiful silver alder, is currently lyinging at 45 degrees to the ground, and its roots are under our little shed which is slowly being hoisted into the air!

I've just been down to Farranamanagh on sunset watch. It was a bit hectic down there today - two more cars and people with dogs! I headed up into the hills and went off piste and found myself waist high in bracken and gorse. There's a moral there. I sat on a rock and watched the sun go down - pretty lovely again, but my red basket is speaking to me. Himself is still out doing a spot of night photography - we might meet for supper!

Edit: and how funny, I was down at Farranamangh at exactly the same time last year!
