Arctic adventure

It's two in the afternoon. The official sunset was 12.30 and by now it is pitch dark in Tromso, Norway.

We were delayed on our flight in because the airport was closed because of heavy snow. On our way to the hotel and centre of the town we went under 2 miles of undersea tunnels. Amazing.

It's beautiful. And peaceful.

Later we are doing a walking tour of the city, and in the evening we are walking to Lake Prestvannet. Sadly, the cloud and conditions mean we have little chance of seeing the Northern Lights tonight.

But there's always tomorrow.
