Photography challenge: White #2

I recently entered a photography challenge with the simple subject of "White". Each entrant can submit up to three pictures and I blipped my first submission here. I decided to submit another image and here is the result.

In the picture we see a compact fluorescent light bulb. I debated how to take and light this shot. In the end, simpler was better and I simply turned it on! No external lighting was required although a white balance adjustment was a necessity.

I like the strong linear lines and interesting patterns in this image and the simplicity.
