What a lovely day:-

For Ionic Plastic

I spent this morning at a meeting inside this building.

On my approach to the building on foot I am reminded of the deeply unsatisfactory nature of the design of the facade.

It is in a mish-mash of styles with an attempt at the Ionic columns of ancient Greece fronting a nondescript modern style.

When you get up close to the entrance of the building it is perfectly apparent that the fluted columns are made of plastic or glass fibre and the passage of time is not treating them kindly.

It would make you wonder how our planners could have originally approved such a building. Oh, did I mention that the building houses the planning offices?
