“I’m looking around the University. British education is highly prized in my country, it has a lot of history, and people think it better than their own"

I stopped the mother and daughter pair in the square outside the art gallery, asking them where they were from. I could tell they weren't from these parts as the mum was casually taking pictures of everything, one-handed, with her pro camera :)

Whilst she was busy doing her thing I had a chat with her daughter. She has applied to come study at the business school here and told me about the decisions she had faced in doing so.

“Why is it so important to study abroad?"
“Our system is very strict, there is no room for creativity and openness”
“Is it such a bad thing to study there?”
“No, not really, but a degree from outside leads to more opportunities I think"

After I had taken their picture, the mum insisted she have a picture of us together. She seemed more keen to capture me than I was of them, novelty perhaps?
