The SITTING room....like when do we sit?

WOW! How things have changed! No such luxury for us today!

This sketch dates back to when Wickham Court became a hotel and this room was the sitting room of one of the suites. The reception classroom which adjoins this room was the bedroom and the staff toilet was the en suite bathroom. Central heating was installed with radiators in every room, plus open hearths for coal fires to give additional warmth making this a truly 5* hotel.

More interesting history as I passed down a corridor today and took a moment to read.

Any heating would would be nice now! My one little fan heater doesn't have much effect!
