Band oF Brothers

I was in Milton Keynes today and stopped at the American Cemetery on the way back. (thanks for the reminder Pete.

These are statues of an Airman, Solider, Sailor and Coastguard, looking out from the Wall that is formed from the Tablets of Remembrance with the names of those whose remains were not recovered. Name, after name, after name. It looks out over the 4000 or so graves of the those who are buried here. All very sobering stuff.

Wandering around looking at the names on the graves I was reminded what a Nation formed by immigration America is. So many european and eastern european names.

I was a bit stuck for a blip, how on earth is one supposed to do this justice with a picture?
I wanted to use this one but could not get the processing right.
