Manga rentals

I've started reading manga, Japanese comics, as a way to study. At the video and cd rental store, you can also rent manga, as many books as you'd like for up to a week. You pay by the day and a week is ¥90. Any given manga series can hundreds of volumes. There are signs that say you can rent 20 books for ¥800, people blow through these books.

This aisle is one of many in this store filled to the brim with manga of every genre and for every age group.

My friend informed me that I can also buy used books for about ¥100, but I kind of like the time limit and this way I don't have to get rid of the books when I leave Japan.
