treading the boards..

...at the Kalamunda Agricultural Hall.
Built is 1896 (which is old in this neck of the woods!) by the Darling Range Vine and Fruit Growers Association, it has had various uses over its life.
As a meeting room for the Growers, it was also an occasional school room and Saturday venue for 'Bart Mott's Star Entertainments' matinee and evening film shows.
In more recent decades it has been home to school graduations, art exhibitions, Christmas pantos, Remembrance Day breakfasts, best of show produce displays and a heap of other events.

Today, Judy Nunn (author and long term member of Aussie soap Home and Away) was guest speaker at a library hosted event and that's why I was here with a couple of other book clubbers.

This is R, fellow book clubber, and she is treading the boards because as a child, her school had their annual play here, she wrote plays performed here and...rode on her horse (hitched out the front) to the Saturday pics.
How very cool is that!
