Elizabeth Foulis in 1814

Elizabeth Foulis is one of my ancestors on my mother's side. She was born in 1796 in Scotland and died in 1836. Here in this portrait in oils she was living in Calcutta, India where she gave birth to 5 children. She returned to Scotland in 1820 after her husband died of Cholera.

I've always loved this picture - I have a black and white copy hanging in my motor home.
