Homestead

I have been meaning to blip this for a couple of days. This is photo of a print of a drawing my father had done of his old house. Well I say his old house but it was actually first owned by my great great grandfather and passed down. My father grew up there and eventually it was knocked down for a more modern house. So my father and my uncles and aunts relied on memory and commissioned this drawing. Even the number plate on the old car is correct. And if you look closely there is the front of a canoe in the corner

That canoe is an old Maori canoe that my great great grandfather found on the riverbank and him and my great great grandmother took it upstream on the northern wairoa river for there honeymoon. I use to play on it with my cousins as a child and eventually it was gifted to the dargaville museum.
