Don't Cross

Don't cross. In fact, don't walk. Too many barriers, too much scaffolding. It's an obstacle course out there.

Forget cycling. The cycle lanes were the first victim of the barriers.

Don't take the bus, as it will be late.

Don't take a taxi. The driver will get lost and charge you an arm and a leg.

Drive if you like. You will spend most of your time in queues and then there will be nowhere to park. At least you can listen to the radio to soothe you, but the revenue from your parking ticket will probably be used to dig more holes in the road.

Just forget it OK? Edinburgh will be closed until 2013 when it will reopen with trams.
