From the kitchen table towards Folly Lane, Stroud

I've been busy working with my friend John on re-decorating one of their old bedrooms, bringing it back from its former status as Liz's textile work room. It is an old Cotswold stone house on the edge of the valley which leads down past Painswick to Stroud. They have lived here for twenty years and now their two sons have mostly left home they can spread themselves out more freely and regain a spare bedroom for friends and family.

John and I work on each others projects quite regularly, but I'm not as used to physical work as I once was, and am feeling rather knackered tonight. John prepared some cheese to go with the bread Liz baked yesterday and it was all delicious. After we ate, I stayed sitting at the kitchen table contemplating going out into the sunshine to try to get a landscape picture as the colours of the woodlands across the valley were so attractive.

But as I opened my camera bag at the table, I couldn't resist taking a picture from where I was sitting, looking out of the kitchen window across towards Folly Lane and Sheepscombe in the far distance. Perhaps I will take a picture of the work we are doing tomorrow, but the views from here are rather tempting.
