Looking out onto the world...

Attended morning service at the Almshouse chapel today. Whilst the busy Bristol traffic roared past outside, the chapel was a little oasis of peace. The vicar made a moving tribute to my Uncle, and the other residents were full of lovely words too, which was very heart-warming.

Along with the almshouses themselves, the chapel is a beautiful piece of seventeenth century architecture, and all of the interior is original, including the heating, ie there isn't any! So on a cold frosty morning, gloves made it a bit difficult to turn the hymn book pages!!

The rest of the day was spent working on the flat, but at last the clearing and packing up is finished, well nearly. The jobs list, however, is still very long!
