Birmingham Library or busman's holiday!

I went to visit my best friend today and we had an afternoon in Birmingham. A really nice lunch in her favourite bar and then a wander round the new Birmingham public library. A bit of a busman's holiday for me as I work in a library, but I wanted to go and have a look at the place.

This is a shot taken inside, from the top floor, looking down on the lift and escalators - it doesn't really look like a library does it?

P.S. It's my birthday too! So I had a glass of bubbly, to celebrate, at Bar Epernay where we had our lunch.
