Inside Register House

Not quite so cold this morning, no frost anyway! Sunny morning! Into Edinburgh again for dentist & a talk on emigration to North America from 17thc, another interesting talk.
This is the dome in New Register House, 3 different circular levels filled with books containing birth, marriage & death certificates, I love this room!
About 20 years ago I had the opportunity long before all these certificates were out online, to look through these to find some of my ancestors! It was such fun & so interesting!

Managed to jump on wrong train tonight at Waverley hmmmmm! Only when it left the station, the announcer said " this is the train for Glasgow Central !! Oh dear thought it was the Dunblane train! When the train stopped at Haymarket I leapt off in time to catch the correct train!! Phew!!!

Note to self .....pay attention to detail!!!!!
