Today is UNICEF children's day. It was on this day that the rights of children were first proclaimed in 1925.

This pirate flag was billowing on the promenade in the stiff easterly wind this morning. From this angle it appears to obliterate the view of Towerbank Primary School. I liked the irony of this children's fort flag flying in the face of the excellent inclusive education that this school provides. There are millions of children around the world today who are, sadly, denied the opportunities our community's children are privileged to enjoy here.
