For the Return of Woody

Only yesterday did I decide that it was time to replace my old peanut bird feeder and which had fallen apart.

I filled the new one and put it up. Nothing much happened until now....

To it is nice to welcome back my timid and highly strung friend Woody Woodpecker.

Up until about twenty years ago greater spotted woodpeckers (or any other type of woodpecker for that matter) were unknown in the Isle of Man. However they now seem to have made themselves a home here and they are very welcome.

Mind you they perhaps will not be quite so welcome if they decide to do the not unheard of trick of pecking through the sides of a beehive...

So it is nice to have a woodpecker on the nuts.
