Class outside the Maori Rock Art Centre

What caught my eye today was this class learning how to weave with flax. They had been laughing and smiling till I asked to take their photo when they went quite serious.
Note the roses growing way up the brick wall behind.

Discovered the Rock Art Centre in Timaru. Upmarket modern presentation. At one stage I was sitting in a small cave ( artificial but effective) with a seat that leant back, when there "appeared" a man in feather clock painting the ceiling. Several of the really good examples or rock art were "drawn" on the cave ceiling.
I had once read the dreaded Taniwha may have been lost salt crocodiles that drifted from Australia. Was told the diamond marking on their backs were very similar to tuatara.NZ s tiny dinosaur. Ie he did not think that the croc theory was correct.

My others find in Timaru was the lovely Centenial Park which seems to go for about 10 k along the escapement behind the town. What an idyllic spot on a hot day.

Yesterday's blip went up on its side, and when I tried to replace it I could not do anything.
Will be able to fix it once I am home with my computer.
