Audio Booth
Spent the day in a post-production house on Old Compton Street in Soho, recording the audio commentary for the telly programme.
This was my view for pretty much all of the day: monitor with timecoded video; lecturn with script; big boom-mounted microphone with a pop-shield in front.
Behind the glass window on the left is a huge digital mixing desk, a very big LCD screen, and Cat the director/producer, Archie the exec producer, and Enzo the studio engineer. All three of them were good fun to work with.
The broadcast date is only a couple of weeks away now, starting to gear up the publicity.
Leaving here this evening, it really was well and truly all over: the crew is planning a get-together to celebrate transmission, and it will be lovely to see them all again then, but other than that my work on this is done now. It all started with a long phonecall from the production company back in February, and a lot has happened since then. It's been a really great experience, and I feel very lucky to have been asked.
