Mural de la Prehistoria

Love it or loathe it? This 120 m long painting is on the side of a mogote and was designed in 1961 by a follower of Diego Riviera. It is supposed to symbolize the theory of evolution and is either impressively psychedelic or monumentally horrific!! Guess what we all thought? But it is clearly on the Cuban tourist trail as sanctioned by the government and our disappointment was relieved by superb pina coladas!!
A mogote is a giant limestone karst and the lush valley floor was scattered with farms and these huge mogotes. Back to Vinales for the night.
