Picos

The channel through the middle. A stunning and touristy attraction. I thought it was Roman but it is far more recent, channelling water next to the path to a power station.

We headed from the North directly South into the massif then took little used footpaths (marked on a map but not seen underfoot) to a plummeting valley. I lost confidence at this point in the book and map but then we spotted 3 people coming up. It was hellish steep down with lots of scree and I couldn't find the routes in the book and shown on the map. Found a horse track and this led to a bridge over the river and a path up to the main way.
