Frost pattern

This morning's frost resulted in these patterns on the roof of my wife's car, the photo was taken from our bedroom window. The width in the image is over 2 feet to give an idea of scale. Quite what physical laws determine the patterns I don't know, but the result is interesting.

What can you see - mountain tops, Christmas trees, feathers . . . . ?
