A Stunning Hummer
< back blip >
Zippy wasn't around and this gorgeous, chubby gal slipped in for a sip or two of the sweet nectar in my yard. A minute later I saw the Zipper chasing someone around the yard but I couldn't tell if it was this girl.
Anna's Hummingbirds are the most common hummers around here during the winter. I'm hoping to see more of them around the "neighborhood."
I got a firm confirmation on Zippy, today. It is a male Broad-billed Hummingbird, despite no red on its bill. I can finally call him "he" with confidence.
