Just reading my book, Mommy xxx

I thought I may have spoken too soon... Eva went to bed at 8pm but woke at 10.30pm, 1.30am and once more (can't be too sure but think was about 4.30am) then we got up just after 8am.

Eva has started chattering a lot more now. She doesn't chatter all day long, just little bits here and there, but I mainly notice it when I'm washing and dressing her in the mornings. She'll go "da da da da da daa" or "mom mom mom mom mommm" or "ba ba ba ba baa" or just say gobbledygook with her little tongue going as if trying to speak, and her little facial expressions that go alongside are just so gorgeous. I talk back to her as if I know what she's saying and we have little pretend conversations.

We had a lovely afternoon today. I didn't really put many toys out, just strategically positioned a few books around the room to see what she'd do. She was in her element and spent ages entertaining herself as I just watched her. She spent ages playing with the new baby signing book I bought, even making a den out of it at one point. Basically, she was lying on her back and had it open above her as if reading it, when she just put it down over her face and she just lay there underneath it for ages loving it. Her little arms and legs were going in excitement. She could have lifted it off or rolled out at any time, but she just lay there for ages loving her little den. I even filmed her for about 5 minutes and uploaded the video to YouTube, where I store all of her videos so I don't lose them.

My dad came round then to see us and have a coffee. While we were having our coffees, Eva sat and ate some raisins. He stayed a couple of hours and Eva was making both of us laugh. She started to get grizzly and very clingy for me around 4ish, I gave her a big feed, but she'd cheer up for a few minutes and then start crying again, seemingly for no reason. Even sat on my lap having cuddles she was crying. I'd done all the usual checklist with her, but put it down to tiredness in the end as she was rubbing her eyes and obviously 'fighting it' sat on my lap.

We had beef stew for tea but Eva didn't want any. I wonder if she's teething again to be honest too. I put hers in the fridge for tomorrow and just gave her some breadsticks and plum to munch on, which she was a lot happier with, then gave her a yoghurt which she demolished.

I've still been persevering with getting Eva to drink water, which she just won't, despite me trying her with different types of cups, even putting water in a baby bottle. It's funny then, when I'm bathing Eva, that she's started to get the yellow toy teapot in the bath, hold it by the spout and the handle, and drink the bath water! Bubble bath and all Lol! So tonight, I took it off her (I always take it off her) rinsed it out, ran some clean, cold tap water into the teapot, and gave that to her. Bizarrely, she wasn't as keen.

I was cuddle drying her after her bath, so her chin was kind of on my shoulder, when all of a sudden she bit my shoulder, the little monkey. I said in a raised voice "No biting Eva, that's naughty!" Then turned to her with a stern look on my face, only to find her grinning at me with a twinkle in her eye. I was determined to hold my glare, so that she may realise she had done wrong, but it was no use, I had to look away, and then just burst into laughter, as she was just so comical and very cute with the little hood on her towel still over her head and her little face looking back at me all smiley.

She was so funny as I was giving her her milk feed on our bed before putting her to bed too. I thought she'd had enough, so stood up, she rolled over to her dad's side of the bed onto her tummy, and her little arms and legs were going as if doing a reverse snow angel but on the bed face down, then looking at me and laughing, then doing it again. She has me in stitches, she is such a little character.

She's been in bed since 8pm, it's now 11.30pm, and touch wood, so far so good xxxxx
