Barnard Castle

Mother is convalescing at the community hospital in Barnard Castle. It's not the most accessible of places. We're she at home in Darlington I could visit her from London by train but the remoteness of "Barney" makes a 570 mile, 11 hour round trip by car the only practical way of doing things.

Barnard Castle is a smart little town. This is it's distinctive market cross.
