Fish out of water

hehe that was me today when I went into Carlisle to the shops! I don't think I've been there since I went Christmas shopping last December which is probably why I always feel very odd when I do go. The purpose of today's visit was to change my phone. I knew which one I wanted and the price etc. The first shop I went in they weren't really helpful and talked so fast I couldn't get what they were saying and it was all technical too! I got my current phone from them 2 years ago and they were very helpful then and even transferred all my contacts over. Not today though as they were not able to match a competitor's price and they were happy to let me go around the corner to their competitor!!

The salesperson in the other shop told me that the phones these days are not as robust as earlier phones and that the glass cracks when dropped which his colleague confirmed as he'd dropped his. So did I want insurance which would cover accidental damage, oh and the cost would have increased the monthly amount by 50% so I politely said no thanks and made a mental note, do not drop phone!! So I have a new phone and its all charged and ready to go... but can I use it, nah!! Why... well I've been waiting and waiting for about 4 hours for a special code from o2 authorising a sim card swop!! I've requested it 3 times now aarrgghh and its meant to arrive within half an hour!

I'm trying to have some time off work this week which doesn't happen very often. I had thought about going away for a few days but think I've left it too late to sort out. But tomorrow is going to be a lovely day so definitely a day out for me! Ooh and I made a phone call when I got home about a dog... but I have to fill in an online form which I duly did only to lose the lot when I pressed a wrong button on the keyboard, haven't redone it yet though. Right must go and light the fire :)
