A Lert

Be alert, I said. The world needs more lerts. Ha ha, well he tried.

The party last night was excellent and it was lovely to catch up with my friends and colleagues socially. And Jacqui got to meet some more of them.

We spent the night in a large hotel nearby. It was awful! The bed was comfy, I suppose, but I hate two singles. Breakfast was poor quality and the coffee undrinkable. We met a very large cockroach by the vending machine in the foyer and the view from the balcony was over a creek full of rather grubby-looking water.

And it wasn't cheap either. An extra 10 euros just to park the car too. How it got its four stars I will never know.

A look on Trip Advisor gave similar reviews by others, but it was a short walk from the party, so we just laughed about it and escaped home as soon as we could in the morning.

This afternoon I played a lot of padel and am getting stiffer by the moment. We didn't win any matches, but I did win one of my games! That's a start I suppose.
