The little town of Surin is located in northeastern Thailand, in the province of Isaan near the Cambodian border.
Every year, they hold a big elephant round-up that lasts 3 days and attracts many visitors. The training is done by the Mahouts, who originally came from India at the time of the Khmer Empire.
This elephant was very friendly and I was able to take a snapshot from a very different angle. Here it is!
