A big Moment

Friday was full of anticipation. My mom came into town. She picked up Sugar from the bus, and they hung out together for an hour or so before we met up for dinner. We had a nice chit chatty sort of dinner. Then, my SIL and 2 nieces met us to head out to Sugar's school for her Fall Festival. Sugar was over the top excited to show her Aunt and cousin's her school. Grandma had been there before, but it was still fun to show her her new classroom for this year.

The Festival was wonderful. It is a music festival where the entire school (approx. 225 kids from Kindergarten up to 8th grade) perform songs for their families to enjoy. The whole school sings a few songs, and then each class performs as well. It is always such a treat. This year, Sugar was thrilled that she had scored a SOLO part in the third grade performance. This photo shows her chanting her part all on her own....in front of A LOT of people. She was clear and loud. It was so heartwarming for this mama. Her shyness is really taking a step back. I'm so happy for her. She did great. I couldn't stop smiling....and neither could she.

Afterwards, she and her cousins went home to the farm with my mom for a weekend of fun times.
