Test Drive

When I went for a short stroll along the farm track beside the house I came across this radio controlled model buggy racing along, accelerating and turning at great speed across the rough verges and along the road. The owner told me that he had finished building it yesterday and was enjoying doing the things that he couldn’t do in a real car. It’s a 1/8 model based on the full-size 'Class 1' desert racing buggies that run in the actual Baja long distance races of almost 900 miles. Today the prizes for this year’s race in Baja, California, Mexico will be being presented to the winners of one of the most exciting and dangerous off road races in the world. Meanwhile this little model was giving an awesome display of its capabilities but the approach of a dog walker put a stop to its test drive.
