Iris

I had to buy myself these irises today, they are one of my favourite flowers, so elegant and slim and also in my favourite colour of purple. It was so dull today after the past few days of lovely sunshine.

Where has the day gone? I seemed to have such a long list of tasks to do and hardly any have been ticked off. Made worse by shopping on the internet and my bank freezing my card and then Gavin's card as they think they are being helpful with security blocks, when all they are doing is wasting my time and frustrating me. It's not like it was a huge amount at a peculiar website or something.

I am off to evensong at the older boys' school and then afterwards to a concert there, one of many to celebrate the centenary of Britten. Tonight's programme is from settings for solo voice and ensemble. Adam, who sings bass, is singing one of his French folk songs, but his singing teacher is singing an aria from one of his operas which should be good.

Then tomorrow morning I am doing a tour of Fortnum and Mason - I may just be tempted to buy some of their special teas!
