Most people have fairies...

... at the bottom of the garden. Not next door, they have gurt big trains.

I don't know the timetable yet so I was halfway up the lane with the dog and not in the best place for a photo when this one came past.

We are moving away from the Steptoe look and heading towards charity shop chic. By the end of the week we could be in House and Garden territory.

There are a few teething problems. This is a newly converted holiday let belonging to a friend of mine and at the moment we have no heating, no tv aerial, a spasmodic internet connection and the wash handbasin and bath are not plumbed in yet.... but it's lovely, we are warm enough with thick socks and extra layers and the shower does work (and really well!) so we are happy enough. We also have alpacas, hens, sheep, cats. a black lab, a horse and steam trains to play with.

Bliss really.
