Connected

I took this photograph some twenty five years ago, while we were in London, on a boat in the middle of the Thames. It is my favourite picture of my three sons, because it captures their personalities so well.

Each boy is very different from the other. Jamie, the oldest, is very kind, thoughtful, and sweet natured. Tom, the middle son, is a worrier. He likes to have his ducks in a row, he's a perfectionist, and quite sensitive. Evan, the youngest, is a carefree soul who bobs through life happily. Give him five minutes, and he will have made friends with a room full of strangers. Yet they are connected to each other on a deeply elemental level. I think this picture shows that.
