Wacky Warehouse!!

Eva's 4th night in her new room and she is sleeping so well in there, bless her so much! I used to feed her, then carry her to bed when she was all sleepy and wind her gently, then put her into bed, but now I am carrying her into her room from ours, she would just cry when I did put her straight into her cot, so now, I've been playing bedtime music on her My Pal Violet when we get into her room, saying night night and lots of goodnight kisses, basically kind of mentally preparing her that she's going to bed now, and touch wood, she's been settling straight away. I lay her down, give her num nums, she pulls her snuggle bear or bunny over her face and goes to sleep. So cute. She's then been sleeping through til sometime around 4am, I give her another teething powder, change her nappy, give her a feed, and she goes straight back to sleep. This morning, she then didn't wake up til nearly 9.30 am and still had a nearly 3 hour sleep in the afternoon. Crazy!

We were going to Liam's 4th birthday party at the Reservoir Wacky Warehouse this afternoon and needed to leave by 2.50 to get there for 3, but Eva was still spark out at 2.40 so I actually had to wake her up. I had actually got the time wrong and the party didn't actually start til 3.30, so we were actually early getting there. It was Eva's (and mine for that matter) first experience of a Wacky Warehouse and oh my word, it was packed in there. I sat with Eva on my lap at a table for a while, then decided it was time to brave the ball pit lol. To get in, you had to climb over these soft play steps and duck your head down at the same time as it was only a small opening, not an easy feat whilst carrying a 22lb baby and trying not to get jumped on by the rather enthusiastic children diving in the balls. I did have to bite my tongue and just shield Eva as best I could as I manoeuvred my way in lol! She loved it in there! I was pulling the balls over her and she was kicking her little legs and just holding the balls and watching all the children. Little Hugo, Harry and James came to play too. She had a lovely time.

I was going out for Louise's birthday on the night to Ponte Di Legno, so I left the party early to get Eva home and settled with Daddy and get myself ready. I gave her a huge milk feed, then Mike fed her a chicken dinner (she ate about half) and I left her sat in her highchair eating a plum for dessert with her Daddy. Mike bathed her and got her into her babygrow, then wrapped her up warm and went off to his sisters, as Aunty Vikki was cooking a belated birthday meal for Grandad Nash, as he'd been in Spain when it was actually his birthday. Mike said Eva sat on Aunty Vikki's lap and was eating peas off a little mat, and some chocolate bits off the cake and drank a little bit of water, and that she was in her element there seeing everybody.

He got back just after 9pm, and gave Eva a bottle of my milk from the freezer, she drank nearly all of it, Mike said, so I was relieved to hear she'd been ok with the bottle, as I'm going away for a whole weekend in a few weeks time, and this had been playing on my mind.

I got home around Midnight after a lovely evening with the girls in Moseley, and Eva woke around 45 minutes later, so it was a relief for me to be able to feed her myself, as I was rather 'full', before I settled down to sleep myself Xxx
