Dance like no-one's watching

Lois cooked lunch for Kingsley, Vernon, Catherine, Jeff and me. Obviously the children were there too. Miss Ella is nearly as tall as me now and wise beyond her years, Violet the darling quirky tomboy devoted to the colour pink, Fin the baritone boy with a voice the volume of a cruise ship docking into Southampton and young Alfie (aged 2) who thinks he's a zombie and longs for a Christmas vampire.

The champagne flowed and the laugher bellowed. I laughed myself into an asthma attack (perhaps the half ton of cheese I ate did most of the damage) but even that didn't dampen the spirits.
