Flowering Fatsia Japonica (and a hoverfly?)

I've probably spelled the plant's name wrongly and this might not be a hoverfly at all... I tried to get a picture of an insect flying close to the flowers but I didn'thave the patience succeed.
This has been a very mild Autumn so far.
