Saturday: The Pink Door

This evening I went out with a couple of friends for a few drinks and then on to the new Indian that has opened.

A most pleasant evening was had although there were a few quirks, such as us getting free poppadoms because the coat rack on fell on Vicki's head.  Also, the waitress was having a very stressful evening and had to walk off in the middle of our order to calm herself. She later apologised profusely and said that it was nothing to do with us - we were apparently the cheeriest people she had had in all night.

And then the level of spiciness will take some getting used to.  There are different levels and we asked for enough to make our lips tingle but not enough to make us cry.  This was interpreted as 'English spicy' - but, to be honest, if a flake of curry powder had walked past my food, I'd be surprised.  So I think I need to up the level.

But, nonetheless, the company was good and the food was very tasty, if not very spicy.  So a pleasant evening in all.

In the bar where we had a drink before dinner, we sat next to a table of four young guys, all in their early twenties or so........all drinking tea!  I have such respect for the fact that younger people here do not need to rely on alcohol for a good time.

And this isn't the restaurant - just a pink door en route.......
