Citizen Archaeology

On my way home from work at about 2:00pm this afternoon I met this lot; Canterbury Archaeological Trust assisted by a group of enthusiastic volunteers, beavering away with trowels and dustpans to reveal part of the old city wall of Canterbury.

I asked them what they would do when they'd found it? Answer - "document it, take some pictures and measurements, then bury it again."
