We did it!

Despite last minute changes to the programme for our WI meeting this evening, and in the end a packed evening, it went really well. We heard about the group involved restoring Bradford Beck river system; the director of Fabric, an organisation who support the development of artists and the arts in Bradford and surrounding areas. He is also chair of Saltaire Festival and Bradford One, one of the groups hoping to take over the old Odeon cinema which today was bought by Bradford Council for a £1. Great to hear so many positive stories about Bradford, a city so often seen in a negative light.

We also had our fashion show for the ladies that took part in our sewing bee this term. Showing off their successfully made skirts which all started from the same basic pattern. It was the first time any of them had made an item of clothing so they'd all done brilliantly.
