New baby

It's taken since early this morning to get the transfer accomplished. My enormous iPhoto library came over successfully from the Time Machine back up, PHEW! I have been in knots waiting!

The usual issues to be ironed out, this is a huge jump for us from Tiger to Mavericks so the learning curve begins. Some applications were too old, like my ancient Photoshop Elements 3 program, but we can purchase a new updated one. The 27 inch screen is huge, especially after using the old Macbook Pro and quite a jump from our lovely decreased 24 inch iMac. Our old but excellent HP printer still works, that's a blessing.

Paul the Plumber preformed miracles yesterday and replaced the ancient dripping faucets on the 1929 bathroom sink and installed a new drain as well. He fixed the spray hose on the retractable kitchen faucet too. He was paid handsomely for his services even though he had expert help from Raspberry. She needs a nice pair of little overalls.

Fed Ex delivered teh two gas range cooking elements cartridge too. We put it in ourselves, avoiding the service person we disliked repairing the old one here. The price for a new one was not much more. The new hair dryer came from Amazon last week, it seems like we are getting things back to working order, at a price, but it feels more like normal with everything working as it should.
