Today's the day the old child-loving bishop (Sic!) from Madrid, having travelled all the way by steamboat, makes his entry in every town and village in this country.

This is the day all children have waited for. December 5 is the old man's birthday and every kid will expect presents, preferably dropped down from the chimney in the hearthplace.
