Memories!
Spotting this bottle of milk on a doorstep took me back to my childhood. I remember the milk van rumbling up and down the road at about 6am and hearing the glass milk bottles rattling in the metal crates. Many homes would have 5 or 6 pint bottles at their front door every day. When the temperature dropped below zero the milk would freeze and we all know that liquids expand when they freeze so we would find about an inch of frozen milk sticking out of the top of the bottle. Then, of course, there were the blue tits who stuck their sharp little beaks through the foil tops to get at the cream on the top of the milk. Ah! Things have changed!
