The Suntrust Bank Building

Today's Colour Challenge was gold , so off I went sightseeing and looking for gold.
Went all around the city on the hop-on hop off bus taking two routes, including Georgetown and the Jefferson Monument. Another beautiful day, sunny with blue skies, although on top of the bus it could get quite chilly. Georgetown is really nice with lovely townhouses. I've picked this image as today's Blip as it is a special building with its green and gold decorations. Like most buildings in downtown Washington you've got to look up to see the most decorations, like that clock and dome roof with wind vane. This is The Suntrust Bank Building, which was formerly the National Savings and Trust Company Building, it's situated at the corner of 15th Street and New York Avenue, opposite the Bank of America. It was constructed in 1888 and designed by architect James T. Windrim. Various additions were done in 1916, 1925, and 1985.
