Swish

The gold Nike swish is for the colour challenge word today. After his game on Sunday, Logan handed us these shoes. He wanted us to take them home, to save them to remind him they were his "comeback" shoes. After thinking he was finished with basketball and staying completely away from it for about 4 months in 2012, he realized that he couldn't do it. He realized a lot of things about himself and is still learning new things. It's so fun to see him leave his teens and enter his 20s and begin to think about life and meaning. He has always been philosophical and introspective, but now he wants to know more about "zen" and living in the moment. Of course it all relates to basketball, but that's okay, he's learning life lessons too.

On another note the colour Gold reminded me of a memorial video that was made in May of this year. The video was for the 1st Annual Seams of Gold Recovery Resource Conference with a Guest Speaker Dave Gibbons in San Diego, CA. "Those who battle with mental health challenges and addiction have many more obstacles to overcome: including being undiagnosed, stigmatized, misunderstood and alone..Please come join us in an effort to Educate our community about the growing problem of Addiction and how we can help!!"
