GRASSROOTS GAME

Every Saturday our lives revolve around rugby over the winter. This is the final part of the season, the rep teams playing for pride and recognition. This game is Under 14 Metro v Under 14 Country. This photo shows the passion and commitment in every aspect of the game. I love the faces and the body positions. You can see the athletic ability of the defense and the desperation in the tackling. You can see how you shouldnt lie on the ground as people will go over you!
This particular game was won by Metro when ahead 25-15 or something like that, when an injured player had to wait on the field for an ambulance and the final minutes were abandoned. Not the best way to end a game. Not the best for the hearts of the mothers who have to watch as well! Scary sport.
