The Enchanted Wood

Went for a wander in the woods today and it was enchanted as ever.... No bird song or barking fox.....Only the gurgling of an overfed stream..... The ancient trees are gnarled and misshapen into imagined old, wise men from J.R.R. Tolkien's Enchanted Forest.... I love it here as I have never met a single person.....Though there are plenty of signs.....Probably a drinking den at night or meeting places for those avoiding the open, conspicuous spaces....
In the early morning it belongs to me and a wake of buzzards. The sun shining through reflected my outlook for the coming day. I had sent some very special work to a cherished friend and it was to arrive some time this morning. Luckily I could track it through my phone as I meandered through the gentle leaf carpeted trails..... I was like an expectant uncle at Christmas waiting the favourite niece to open her present...... Really don't know who was more excited but the wait was worth it....and more......much more..... I had been a little anxious that my best would not be good enough........ I got a call and relaxed..... My day was made......Hearing the excited happiness a friend's voice lifts the heart .....just saying
